I made a vow that I must photograph 10 species with my phone before I buy a real camera.
Is it too late or out of your budget to move up to the R50? Plenty of reviews available, but the general consensus is the R50 will give you more camera to grow into. The two cameras are more or less identical in terms of overall dimensions, but the R50 has a touch-sensitive fully articulated display

My wife agreed to let me get the R50 over over the R100. Would you all be willing to help me with a few reservations?
Are you in the USA? If so Canon's refurbished program currently has the R50 on sale for $440 body-only or $520 with the kit 18-45mm lens, and the EF-RF mount adapter for $80. Also it looks like KEH has the AD-E1 hotshoe adapter available used for $30. The R50 is a far more capable camera than the R1

Any suggestions on what kind of camera to get for stop motion?

If they have them in stock for Black Friday this year, I’d expect that price to be more in the $325-350 range. Right now, an R100 body refurb is $369, the 18-45 kit is $450. The 1

Is the Canon EOS R100 too limiting for someone who's just looking to try out photography?
I'm not sure if I'll really get into photography as a hobby, so I wanted to get a cheap camera to try it out. My main goal is to understand how things like aperture, ISO shutter speed and all affect pictures, and maybe even take half decent pictures during trips. I know the EOS R100 does not have to

Going to Osaka Japan! Any tips for a total newb?
As the title says (1) I'm a total newb when it comes to owning and using a camera, and (2) Will be travelling to Osaka, Japan on March 18th and keen to check-out some options while I'm there (Yodobashi, BIC Camera, 2nd hand shops etc.)
Did some preliminary research, and the following are my key "id
