AF with EF - EOS M Adapter and Sigma lens
It's 'dead' in the same way the EF system is 'dead', yet people are buying EF DSLRs left and right these days due to the cheap cost yet high quality pictures they take. The big differences between the M50 vs R7 are: The R7 is decently larger, has two SD card slots, has animal eye tracking in auto fo

What is your single biggest "buyer's remorse" camera purchase?
Canon m6 mark 2. On paper, it was great, metal body, compact, 15 frames a second, but the focusing was hit and miss. Nearly 50% of my photos would blur. Even stationary subjects. Eventually, I sold it... All my other cameras were better.

Looking for a good camera
The ‘go to’ bird starter pack these days sees to be something like a used Canon R50 or R100 plus the Canon RF 100-400, which gets you a reach of about 640mm due to the crop sensor on those cameras. However even with used prices you’re over $1,000 easily. I’m using a Canon M6 MK II along with a Sigma

Got a skin for my Canon M50 :D
I tried a similar combo on the M6, but with a 2x canon converter. It looks mahoosive. Size doesn't really matter if you have the optional tripod mount I see there. Some IQ loss but it works reasonably well. AF is slow at first but consistent. I was just curious to try it out as I knew it was never a

I can‘t decide between cameras
Good sooc jpegs is the main factor that gets cameras overpriced, you're gonna have to be creative. I have some recs Mirrorless cameras: Canon eos m6 / m100 / m200 etc.: Small, great autofocus (look only for canon cameras with dual pixel af). The thing with canons of that era is that they have a very

Thank you! Depends how you define professional camera 😅 It's tiny and relatively old Canon M6 II but I think here just lovely lens and of course beautiful morning light does the job 😄

Best budget to mid range lens >= 400mm
I use a Sigma EF 100-400mm contemporary on my Canon M6 MK2. With the crop it’s a 640mm reach. It’s not expensive, and can be found from places like Keh for $800. It’s literally half the price of the Canon 100-400mm. I use mine for light birding and children’s sports. It’s a decent size, light weight

AF with EF - EOS M Adapter and Sigma lens
Yeah. Basically the same as I said before. You just have to take into consideration the added length and weight the adapter is going to add to the lens. The Meike adapter with drop in filter I mentioned before, which I own but haven't used much yet, so I can't tell you from practical application exp

Lens reccs pretty please
Ha, for sure. I'm always happy to vomit out what camera knowledge that I have. I often tell my spouse that I'm a deep well of completely useless information, but occasionally that comes in handy. I'm a big fan of the M system, and really like my M6 MK II. I get WHY Canon ditched the EF and M camera

Do people with cameras like RX100/ZV-1 still end up using their phones more?
I have an iPhone 17 pro. When I go for a night out with my wife I leave my phone in the car and just throw a Canon Elph 360 in my pocket in the summer. Is it better? No but that’s the point. There’s no computational processing or forced HDR, I get optical zoom, a flash, and it doesn’t fight for my a
