For slides? A camera! I mean that very sincerely. If you’re scanning slides, a decent camera will be better 99.5% of all scanners even the professional lab ones. And you don’t need a fancy one. I can recommend the Valoi easy35 with the mount mask if you’re canning mounted slides. It works a treat. E

The Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM is a nice sharp lens. If you need a bit of extra reach, you can throw on a Canon Extender EF 1.4x II or III and take it to the equivalent of 420mm f/5.6, and you don't lose much image quality. I've used the 300mm on both my original EOS 6D and adapted to my wife's EOS

I’d go Canon EOS M50 out of that list. It’s the most “modern” feeling upgrade (best AF for people/kids, decent for street, and it’s the only one here that won’t make video feel like an afterthought). Bonus: if you already have Canon EF/EF-S lenses from the T7, you can use them with an adapter. If th

Canon EOS M50 II with the default kit lens for this trip. It's an entry level mirrorless camera. It's lens mount type is a bit outdated - so I wouldn't encourage anyone to invest much into that model. A few of the photos were from my Pixel 7 as well.

Don't spend the whole budget on bestest latest lenses or camera body. Canon 5D III, 50 f1.8 USM, EF 24-105 f4 IS, 70-200 f4 IS, Godox v480 This set should cover most use cases and still within your budget. I recommend the DSLR because many photographer that I know of still use them professionally. D

I had my IPhone 15 Pro Max & it was good & my husband took his Canon EOS M50. I was grateful as that zoom lens was far superior when it came to shooting puffins on a distant cliff or in midair. My iPhone long distance photos were poor for those shots & also in dim light.

m50 is fine until needing a bigger focal length than 200 on native mount. or wanting sigma 18-50 or 17-40. ef-m can be cheaper but canon does not develop more cameras or lenses for that mount. m50 also shares issue off 4k with rp. https://cameradecision.com/Canon-EOS-M50-lenses https://cameradecisio

Thank you! I used my Canon EOS M50 with a 22mm f/2.0 and 50mm f/1.8 here, with that the photos almost makes themselves. Also, very hard to take a bad photo in this pc case. As BeskarAP said, standing further away to get that compression is key, good tip!
