Espresso machine + grinder combo for barista skills at home?

The dual boiler is an excellent machine, great choice The breville grinder is not famed to be really, i would recommend a baratza grinder but im not an expert on them, but if you have the budget maybe go for a niche zero

What espresso machine did you start on, and would you recommend it to a beginner today?

This - paired with a good grinder. At home I went Gaggia Classic -> Breville Dual Boiler -> ECM Synchronika so I've seen a bit of the spectrum. At my holiday house I have a Bambino Plus and if it's paired with a good grinder (the most important part) you can make coffee. A friend of mine who lives a

Switching from BBE to Bambino

Id imagine they're pretty close to the same thing, so not worth it (not sure if the Bambino has a PID like the BBE though). I had a Breville Infuser for a long time which is the same brew setup as the BBE (no grinder). Great machine but when it died the upgrade I made was to a Dual Boiler (they are

This or that? Comparing Breville espresso machines

We have several places with Breville coffee machines Have fully manual dual boiler, probably 12 or so years old. Shame no built in grinder, as much prefer the bench space. We had two Oracles not survive five years, so received credits back and now bought the Jet. Just got a Barista Express. Whilst i

Profitec GO or Dual Boiler [around $1000]

I think neither of them would be a good choice as a starter machine. Both machine wont fit for everyone, like the warmup time or workflow might bother someone. Machines like delonghi ecp or breville bambino would be a solid pick for learning and discovering what else features you are REALLY looking

Would this BDB be a good first machine/good deal assuming in fairly handy?

BDB owner here. I bought one off of Goodwills auction website for about the same price. When mines came, descale thing was on, drip tray looked like a mess, top part where you would pour water looked like wherever it came from had hard water considering the calcification. Anyways. I powered it up, c

Long time, first time

Unlike most Breville products, the dual boiler and bambino are actually decent. Do not get any breville product with a built-in grinder. The minimal work-flow efficiency gain is not worth getting an significantly inferior grinder. You never get your money's worth with built-in grinders. Separate gri

Would this BDB be a good first machine/good deal assuming in fairly handy?

I think it's a no brainer, there are so many spares available for Sage/Breville now, definitely worth that money for a dual boiler system. You're on the right track with the question's you want to ask. As for your C2 not cutting it. I have Bincoo Chinese eqv, stainless steel burrs, I have chocked my
