Unplug the machine and plug it back in. I had the same issue with our Barista Touch (and a Breville toaster with the same button). Sometimes the button stops responding but unplugging and plugging it back in seemed to resolve it. But it inevitably happens again in weeks/months.

UPDATE: It's late 2025 and my machine threw up this error code and I came here looking for solutions.
