It's really not a cost issue. Bambino Plus + DF54 = $650 when you can find them on sale. That's about the cost of an Barista Express Impress. Learning curve for the Bambino+DF54 is higher. I used mine daily. Broke today. This is my second BBE. They both broke after 4 years. This time is a faulty milk sensor. Getting them serviced is extremely expensive and not worth it. I don’t think I’ll buy Breville again.
