OK, I'm not sure if it will cover the UK, but the Tom's Guide to office chairs is pretty good place to start (https://www.tomsguide.com/best-picks/best-budget-office-chairs) My daughter & I each have the Verve chair by Branch. It's pricey but very comfortable and comes in some good colors.
