I just got here to ask the same question. Sony Bravia TV, Bose 900 soundbar. Apple TV 4K. High speed 8K HDMI cable connected to eARC on Sony TV. Soundbar doesn’t turn on properly when I turn the setup on with Apple TV remote. Or it turns on a few seconds later, making the TV & the Apple TV restart.

Wow! I am amazed that I am not the only one with this problem. There seem to be a lot more people with mostly the same problem. I have the Soundbar 900 with a wirelessly connected Bose Bass 500. The bass module 700 and the surround speaker 700s were introduced 10 years ago and haven't been refreshed since. They've been repurposed and renamed a couple of times though. It looks like they both use the same mounting bracket, but beyond that you will need to talk to Bose to verify. Though if you have the SB900 I would wait as the SB Ultra doesn't seem to be anything but a minor upgrade.
