My experience with these headphones is exactly the same. When I first listened to music on the Bose QC Ultra 2, I certainly noticed a difference compared to my old Bose QC 35 II, but I didn't get that 'wow' effect. However, the moment I played a song on the B&W Px8 S2, a smile immediately appeared o

I recently replaced my Bose QC35 II with the Sennheiser Momentum 4. They're not as comfortable as Bose, but good enough, and much better sounding (especially after customizing their sound to my liking via the mobile app). Did you try the QC Ultra? I have that and the Momentum 4 on the way to try out. I have Bose QC 35 IIs. Impressive durability but hoping I can find something that sounds even better. The regular QuietComforts were not it. Lol
