What is so bad about Boox ereaders?

I will preface this by saying that I don’t think there’s anything wrong with the Boox, but I do understand the bad reviews you’re seeing. It all comes down to what you are expecting and what you’re willing to learn. If you are coming from a Kindle (and I assume a Kobo) you may be expecting any eread

Mum's had another fall, what can I send her?

Seconding the e-reader idea. I've got a Boox and it has two little buttons on the side that you can program to turn the pages or whatever else - very nice!

Idk why people keep complaining boox is complicated and it takes time to get used to it

I just got the same device and I love it! With that said, I understand why people warn about complications: If you're new to e-readers AND android, then this device is not just a unbox and immediately start reading. You have to learn the navigation, android OS, how to get books, how to side load (BO

crazy insight from my therapist about scrolling in the morning

I can't speak on this from an anxiety standpoint, but I can vouch for it as far as motivation and dopamine are concerned. I've been great at not bringing my phone to bed for around 5 years now (I find it makes my sleep awful) and I always leave it in my study, while using an old school alarm in the

AO3 on my kindle

I got an Android ereader over a Kindle/Kobo specifically so I can read AO3 on a good browser lol. I love my Boox Go 7. It has page turn buttons that work on webpages!

Best Ereader for actually owning your books?

I got a Boox page, use it with all my de-DRMed books. Love it. Buy my books from ebooks.

I just got a Boox Go 7 to replace an old Kindle, I love it so far! Any app suggestions for reading, or is default reader the best?

As someone who had been using Kindle Oasis, and then Boox Page and now Boox Go 7; Nothing can beat KOreader if you figure out its settings and find out your desired reader customization. EDIT: putting the book cover you’re reading on the screen saver/sleep wallpaper automatically makes KOreader irre

E-readers with internet access?

Boox seems to fit this. The Amazon ecosystem tend to be restrictive but Boox is basically an android, with an eink screen. You can check their models to see which screen size would suit you. I personally have a Boox Page for manga and other long novels.

To those of you who have 2 e-readers, why do you keep both and what do you use each one for?

I bought my very first Kindle, a basic 2019 during the pandemic. If has been with me through everything, work, medical school, hospital duties. It’s my solace during those moments that I needed to dissociate. Then in 2024, someone tried to sell me a brand new Boox Page (sealed) for 50% off because t
