Switching from reMarkable → BOOX Note Air5 C — looking for tips & advice
I have a Note Air 4c. I work in a tech retail store and we have the Remarkables on display - having tested both I can't say I felt that the texture of the screen on the Remarkable was any better than on the Boox which has a pre-applied matte screen layer (which I believe is true for the 5c as well).

Kobo jail break to add kindle app?
The way I look at it, the books that are on KU are only there because amazon has locked the author into exclusivity contracts that prevent them from being other places. Amazon also pays the authors of the books on KU incredibly poorly (between 0.004 and 0.005 cents per page read which equals out to

Any help? This is so janky
Why do you want to open the PDF in Notes? If you want to annotate the PDF with your thoughts and workings, scribble in the margins, etc. then NeoReader is the app you want. NeoReader can do almost everything Notes can do: handwriting, conversion to text, shape perfection, text boxes. It can do many

Which e-reader is best for AO3?
Are you OK with just downloading and transferring files to it, or do you want to read online as well? Do you care about having a large well-organised library? I have a Boox Go 7, which runs Android (still eink though) and allows downloading apps. Browsing AO3 on a browser works very well (and page t

Best ereader outside of kindle?
The only one I would say to avoid is the nook. The software has always been mediocre. I chose to go with a Kobo libra colour after watching reviews. Waiting for it to arrive now. For me, it was the library integration, the UI design, and the page turn buttons. I do like the idea of readers like Boox

Getting my GF a Kindle for Christmas
Colour is the only difference between the Clara Color and Clara BW. Libra only has a colour version and has a pencil for notes, dropbox/cloud stuff, buttons to turn pages. A lot of people in the kobo sub frigging hate the colour versions. It's basically an extra layer over the black and white screen

Help me decide!
Boox go color 7 gen 2 if you want color or Boox go 7 if you want monochrome. I have a Boox Go Color Gen 2, and it's amazing! It's like a Kindle Oasis, Colorsoft, Scribe, and Paperwhite had an eink tablet that can use apps. I have the Kindle, Audible, Libby, Bookfunnel, and other apps on it. I'm kind

Which e-reader for academic papers and books?
Boox 100% over the remarkable. The remarkable will only allow pdfs and drm-free ebooks, and most are not drm-free. Because Boox is android based you can download major ebook platforms along with other useful apps in the Google play store. Think Kindle, Zotero, Libby, Drive, Notion, email, and even a
