Will Note Max get another update?
Works great? Wow. Here are just a few of the bugs I run into constantly: Worst ghosting I have ever had on an e-ink device (and I have a few). Every page of a document or notebook requires as full refresh (swipe) unless you are ok with all the remnants of the previous screen. This was made even wors

Small e-reader device to read academic books in pdf
Yeah. Some e-readers like boox have a PDF feature to TRY to address this, by splitting a PDF page into four quadrants. I've tried that and still it is not that good. While it eliminates the dreaded janky zooming in and out by just splitting one pdf page into 4 pages that is zoomed in, it doesn't bod

I want to get my wife an reader but she uses so many different apps/sites to read. What's my best option?
Seconding this. The ghosting and grainy newspaper like quality of the go color is a lot. It's not bad if you're actually using color. You can get over it when reading comics or books with children. I use color to highlight passages. It's fun, and relatively easy on my phone. But it's not worth it on

Need opinions on why I should choose the reMarkable Paper Pro over the Supernote Manta
Ghosting is when you can still see previous writing when you flip the page and you have to refresh the screen. SN has dedicated refresh strips on the L&R sides of the screen, though I never had a problem with it. I've not had any ghosting on the RM's. But that BOOX? Even with the manual refresh (and

Note air 5c vs 4c vs go 10.3 for computer engineering student.
That's just BOOX marketing speak. Use an actual Kaleido 3 device next to the Go 10.3 and you'll instantly see that its rendering of a B&W page is clearly worse than an actual 300ppi display. So BOOX claiming that it operates at 300ppi in B&W is just false. The reason for this is that the colour filt

E-reader newbie looking for some advice
I’ve only ever seen product pictures of the Obook devices and having the fonts look really weird on those product pics hasn’t made me want to look any further. I don’t know how much they cost (I’ve found the product pages on Amazon but there’s no price listed - I guess because I don’t live in a coun

[April 2026 Megathread] UX Feedback & Feature Improvements
I am currently on an older Boox (the note air 2)But running 4.1 I think you should allow OCR in the notes app to preserve indents and Spacing formating instead of just plain text when I had a kindle scribe I could Convert writing to text and all my spacing and text size would be preserved and it wou

Used my Pro for at another gig and loved it.
I don't often use charts, but the lack of bluetooth page turning and the unreliable page turning gesture (though seems better in recent versions?) stop me from using the RMPP for music. I've used an Onyx Boox Note Pro successfully, despite its smaller screen, because of the page-turning support, but

Considering the boox note air 4c. Should I?
I have recently purchased this product and unfortunately it ghosts badly. You need to refresh it every page or so if it annoys you, I do it every few pages / and or if there has been like a big image having been displayed (leaves a dark ghosted image). It would be good if the software refreshed with

Reader First Impressions
Right know it’s cooler than the cool setting of my Boox page and the 1/20 scale of the reader is around 20% of the Boox brightness. It’s not awful but in pitch dark it’s really bright
