e-reader for university library books?
You could look into the Boox Air 4C and 5C. Make sure to look up reviews because Boox devices can have quirks and you cannot expect updates. In general I would recommend going with a 10 inch screen or larger for those types of books.

Im genuinely upset.
Iİ own an onyx boox note air4c. I carry it with a cover put in a protective zipped case. Double protection. Seems bulky but the best way to save them. These are expensive and fragile devices.

Something going on at Boox?
This is something they do, and it's pretty annoying, but they do make good equipment... They basically make enough for complete run of a version of a product and sell it out completely before they move to the next version of the product. I got my boox note air 4C, because I was trying to buy a note

Boox Air 4C or Tab Ultra C Pro?
Note Air 4C for sure! Improved Kaleido 3 screen, more current Android version, better writing experience. Durability has never been an issue for me and I have multiple Boox devices.

HELP ME CHOOSE!
100% kobo. Its cheaper than the boox and in all honesty I think a better quality product. I had a boox note air 4c and it stopped charging (not a good look for all other product lines.) Kobo is repairable, boox is not. To get a black and white device that costs more than a color device is honestly s

My Long Wait for the Boox Note Air 4C — and Why I’m Already Thinking of Ditching It
TBH, I have Note Air4c , and I have used many tech devices my whole life, and this is one pf those devices I would say is having good built quality and is premium. There is no creaking sound as OP mentioned. Might be their device is faulty or a fake one. I do not know. Also, I am someone who does no

I’m Reluctant to Say this but…
I’ll chime in on this. The Kindle is great for reading but the processor on the Note Air 4C makes the experience better for large PDFs. Boox has a dedicated specialized PDF reader which works great and allows annotations. With Boox you can install any of the e-reading apps you want so it’s overall a

Which one to choose? Kobo Libra Colour or Boox Go 7 Series
For extensive notes, I don't think these two are great options for you, OP. They're great e-readers, but it looks like you want a device more for note-taking with the added benefit of being an ereader. Boox would be the way to go vs Kobo simply because Boox is more of an open system since it's Andro

How long-lasting are Boox devices?
They say that they'll provide firmware updates for all devices for at least 3 years. Devices will obviously keep working after that, but they won't necessarily receive updates or bug fixes beyond those 3 years. I plan to keep using my Air 4C for as long as possible after that, but we'll see how it h

Is it worth to get Na5c over Na4c?
Only for Android 15 is it worth it. Android 13 is from 2022 and 15 is from the end of 2024. In terms of OS support, you are guaranteed at least 2 additional years (Android 16 is just beginning to be implemented) so, for this alone, it is worth it. Also, let's not forget that BOOX only guarantees 3 y
