I don’t understand why new ones are so expensive also have something easier on the eyes. You’ve answered your own issue there - they’re expensive because of the screen technology used. All mainstream companies use screens made by one company, it’s a monopoly and a considerably smaller market than LC

I use the boox go 6 (gen ii)! It's a bit small for manga for a lot of people, but personally I don't mind. Shonen jump, viz, and crunchyroll manga all work fine for me and they're smooth once you get over the learning curve of an e ink tablet :)
