Nice one! That’s a great gift. I moved from an iPhone 11 Pro to the BMPCC 4K about six months ago. For batteries, I just rotate the standard Blackmagic one and a few Hahnel Extremes. I found battery grips too cumbersome, and if you aren't shooting 30+ min takes, swapping internals keeps the rig way

Yea, that's the unfortunate thing about FCP. Plug-in, plug-in, plug-in. It almost feels like a shell that exists for no reason other than to prop up the plug-in developers. And you don't even get the best offerings from companies like BorisFX. Their FCP versions are no where near as good as the Avid
