I have a larger head and love my black diamond vapor. If you can afford them the lightweight foam helmets like the petzl sirroco are super comfortable and that means they stay on your head. The petzl connect adjust is a great personal anchor and I highly recommend it, especially for sport climbing.

It works and is safe. Sometimes this is the best option but generally not. I would highly recommend buying a belay device with guide mode (black diamond atc guide is cheap and good) so that you can belay directly of the anchor masterpoint. For almost any hanging and standing belays that is both safe
