DT 880 Pro and DT 770 Pro would be my choice. Produced 10 yrs on the 880 pro (more than with speakers) and still love them. Monitors can definitely be useful since you're teaching a class but depending on the room, you might be better off just taking that speaker budget and getting some headphones. If everyone had the same interface and headphones, it'd be easy to standardize what they're hearing. I'd recommend some Beye

I use these: Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pro 250-ohm Semi-open Reference Studio Headphones They sound amazing and if he does any producing he'll want studio headphones so they work for both. They are your max budget though

ive owned many beyerdynamics so far. but always 250 Ohm and with paired with DAC.currently using dt 880 pro with DAC by Schiit (very fancy, made in usa). it comes down to if the soundcard u are using supports this impedance (80 OHM). i dont know about 80ohms (never used them) but 250 is not supporte
