[MOD] The Daily Question Thread

Not sure what I might have run afoul of, but looks like my post was removed. So I'll put my question here. My Capresso Infinity is on the way out (I can smell the motor bushings going) so I decided to upgrade to the Virtuoso+ for pour over. My grinder arrived the other day, and it smells STRONGLY of

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread

I'd look at the Baratza Virtuoso+. I think it's superior to the Ode2, at least for brewed coffee, and it's much cheaper. It's also much easier to clean. Baratza support is clearly better, too.

Which Grinder

I have the Virtuoso+, which is pretty much the predecessor to the ESP Pro, and it makes great coffee with the Moccamaster, but also with other brewing methods like pourover, Moka pot, and french press. The improvements they've made in the ESP Pro are all worthwhile, and Baratza has a reputation for

Budget [$500] - new to Espresso

I was recommended the Breville Bambino Plus and the Baratza Encore ESP grinder as a starter setup on this subreddit. [MOD] The Daily Question Thread

I swear by my Baratza Virtuoso+, and I'm also a FP brewer who favors rich, hearty dark roasts. I looked into the Ode2 and I'm convinced that you will be far better served by your V+. Not only is it at least as good for brewed coffee as the Ode2, but it is considerably cheaper. Baratza support is way

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread

I have a Baratza Virtuoso+ which gives me an excellent cup in the aeropress or V60. Lately however it's taking ages to grind my usual 15g of beans, anything up to 90 seconds. I have no idea what's caused this. I've done a clean, and can't find anything blocking it. I know there have been a lot of po

fellow ode gen 2 VS baratza encore ?

Think you’ve got enough comments echoing this so far, but I will add my two cents - for filter Ofe Gen 2 is a dramatically better grinder than the Encore. I had a Virtuoso+ and honestly, it was pretty horrible for pour over. And that is supposed to be a step up from the Encore. Upgraded to an Ode Ge
