Top electric grinders on Reddit by positive & negative comments - for entry lvl espresso vs light roast espresso vs multiple brew methods etc. Based on 652 posts in the past year (Mar 2026)

Nice, but honestly the results look heavily biased towards what is common, available for a long time and affordable (most posts). E.g. a Baratza Encore really should not be at the top of a pour-over, light roast or multi purpose grinder list.

WHAT am I doing wrong??? [Breville Bambino]

Baratza Encore or Baratza Encore ESP? the Baratza Encore can't grind fine enough for espresso

Older [Baratza Encore] still not fine enough after calibration

Also have Baratza Encore, I have never found it to be an acceptable grinder, I have switched to an Eurkia grinder, stepless, much better results. I know some Baratza fans will down vote this, however Baratza Encore was never an espresso grinder. I still use my Baratza for my chemex setup, which work

Trying to optimize my setup

Baratza Encore Esp can do the job but I moved on from it quickly. If you can afford to spend more, a nice grinder will reward you.

Opus 2 First Impressions

I love my flat burr Ode grinder for pour over. Huge upgrade over my Baratza encore. For espresso I would be eyeing the Niche Zero personally

Flat vs conical burrs research says no one can reliably taste the difference (2013)

I have no doubt that the 3 flat-burr and 3 conical grinders studied indeed are quite excellent. But burrs and small changes in them, from what I have gathered in this subreddit, can be dramatically different and cause dramatic flavor profile differences. And this study is asking that a universe of o

[Grinder & Machine] Eureka Mignon Zero 55s & Gaggia Classic Pro E24.

Seems hard to argue against the Gaggia classic out of the box other than possibly the lack of PID. I was previously sold on a baratza encore/esp but looking on here, I've seen some people talk about clogging when trying to go really fine. Not sure how common that actually is, or just user error.

Baratza Encore ESP Pro review from a normal person

I would add: as with the original Encore ESP and Encore, Baratza needs to design a good portafilter holder for the grinder. Again, so easy to do (e.g. start with the current and simply fix the easily-noted issues)--I wish that Baratza would do so (people here even have posted efforts in this regard,

I think my morning coffee routine has gotten a little ridiculous [$500-$700]

LOL, a Baratza Encore is inadequate for espresso, full stop, so it's not a valid comparison (the term "completely disingenuous" comes to mind). I have one, it's great for drop or press, but useless for espresso. I'm not a hoffman fan, he's ok if you're a beginner but that's about it. I'll stick with
