Help me choose a coffee grinder!! [$500 budget]

Baratza Encore ESP Pro, it's what cured my rage after the Fellow Opus. Whatever you do, do NOT get an Opus. With the Encore ESP Pro you're good to grind just about anything from a reputable brand for $299.

Help me choose a new grinder: narrowed down to two options [free with rewards points]

Baratza ESP or ESP Pro, no question. Avoid the SGPs. They are old designs, barely suitable for dark, oily roasts of dubious origins; perhaps a step up from a blade grinder. Apologies to contented users of these; mainly I am irate at the gall of Breville's inflated pricing for them. Baratza Encore ha

Flat vs conical burrs research says no one can reliably taste the difference (2013)

I only looked at the study quickly, but unless I misunderstood, the study was limited to a whopping 3 conical grinders and 3 flat-burr grinders. As we know, each grinder and its burrs has its own individual characteristics. Some conicals can be more "flat-burr-like," and some flat-burrs more "conica

Breville Barista Impress vs Ninja Luxe Café Pro - Worth it for a beginner? [$1000]

IMO do not buy a machine with an integrated grinder. For the same price you could get a Breville Bambino and a Baratza Encore ESP Pro (or similar) and you'd get much much better coffee out of that combo than those two machines you mentioned.

Good grinder

I just got a Baratza Encore Esp Pro. So far it is worked well from Moka pot, the Hario Switch, the Oxo Rapid Brewer, and my Aeropress. I've not made espresso with it yet, as I only have a Picopresso machine, but it does grind very fine when needed. I think it might be new, there wasn't a lot of info

Fancy grinder with cheap/basic espresso maker?

With the budget, I'd do a Baratza Encore ESP Pro over the original Encore ESP--a nice 2.2-micron grind precision, and producing fluffy grounds (plus, some nice, enhanced styling there). :)

Grinder with timer

The grind of my Baratza Encore ESP Pro, with a grind timer in it (not an auto-on timer, but a grind duration timer), takes ~20 seconds for my dose. Can you spare 20 seconds? ; ) (And you're also guaranteed greater grounds freshness by grinding exactly when you need the grounds, and not minutes or ho

Baratza encore ESP vs kingrinder k6?[$200]

The KinGrinder K6 manual grinder is well-regarded here for its quality/output/price value ratio; typically priced in the U.S. at just under US$100. Up from there, the 1Zpresso J-Ultra really is a hand-grinding star, albeit at ~double the KinGrinder K6's price. A major difference between the two: the

Best multipurpose grinder for espresso and batch brew [<400CAD]

I don't have any issue whatsoever with the original Baratza Encore ESP grinding fine enough for a mainstream espresso machine. That being said, it has 20-micron grind steps, which the Encore ESP Pro enhances to whopping 2.2-micron display steps (making the grinder effectively stepless in practice) a

What’s better between Gaggia Classic Pro + PID vs. Bambino Plus [budget $600]

The regular baratza encore does not grind fine enough for espresso, make sure it is the esp or esp pro model. Gaggia is a nicer and more long lasting machine, but unless you are handy, I would not buy a used or modded gaggia. Also beware of the ones produced during the boiler issue 'boilergate'. Bam
