What was a very expensive item you bought which was really useful?

I went through 3 emersion blenders in 5 years. One was a gift, one was a grocery store giveaway and one we paid about $80 for. On every single one, the plastic bits on the wand broke. As a Christmas gift to ourselves we bought a Bamix Pro. If I remember correctly it was around $200-250. I think that

Your BEST Chimichurri!

https://cafedelites.com/authentic-chimichurri-uruguay-argentina/#wprm-recipe-container-40200 This is the source site for that recipe, it's a banger and I thank her father for his efforts 👌 I'm a believer in knife cutting over a food processor for a superior product but I have made some really tasty

Where to spend vs splurge?

+1 for the BamixIt's less closed on the edges, which makes it less save to use, but because it catches the food from the sides as well, it works a lot better than the Braun blender I had before.

Suggestions for a vitamix style stand blender

Check out Bamix (made in Switzerland) and Graef (Germany). Personally I have a Moulinex Companion XL (France) which makes awesome soup if you like them smooth, but never try ice cream in it (it should be able to handle it, it's in their recipes book!). Probably pricier than a Vitamix blender tho..

Bamix immersion blender- which one to keep? M07 or M11

Both! I like the longer shift and I don't like the curled cord. But then You say You like it, so maybe it's the right one for You???? Can You try both before You decide? I have not seen the one with the longer shaft. My MIL has a 160W shirt shaft one and it works great. I bought a Suiss line red set

Crème de cacahuète nature maison

Tout à fait possible, tu fais torréfier tes cacahuètes au four 10 15 min, et hop tu les verses dans un récipient. Puis tu utilises un mixeur plongeant Bamix, ils sont très puissants

What is something old you own that still works perfectly?

I have a Bamix one that was a wedding present in 1988 - it's still better than most I've seen in shops now. The uncle who gave it to me died 25 years ago but I still think of him every time I use it. 🙂

I have my mum's original Bamix. Occasionally has a bit of a hissy-fit, but generally works great.

Which food processor to choose ?

power is irrelevant, effectively. more power usually just means more torque; handy if you want to grind iron pellets into filings. the stick blender Bamix has “low power” and K can assure you that works exceptionally well. seems overkill just to make praline. what other cooking do you do? how will a
