What is the highest level of console generation can the switch (v1, v2, oled) emulate?
I would personally look at an Ayn Odin 2 (Portal, in case you want Oled) or Ayn Thor (same power, just clamshell).Or Odin 3 for even more power.Switch is great for Switch games but too weak for emulation. And don’t even think about Steam emulation. To put into perspective, modern Android handhelds h

New Odin 3 Owner - What's the Best Way to Run Games?
Ok, lets do this one last time. TL;DR: Look up guides. There's a bunch of them that will walk you through most everything. They are on youtube and most of those have write ups on personal websites/blogs too. The Odin line of devices by the company AYN (Odin, Odin 2, Odin 2 Mini, Odin 2 Portal, Odin

Should I emulate or play original hardware
Emulate. It's convenient, it's free, and only collectors get a kick out of playing on original hardware. I'm an OG gamer from the 70s, and while I admit there's a little thrill in seeing and working with the original hardware, nothing beats the convenience of my Ayn Odin 2 Portal docked to my TV, re

Sold my SD Oled, kept my switch 2
Smart. I'm a huge fan of the Steam Deck and love mine. But when it's not the right tool for the task... buh bye. Switch 2 is a great handheld for new titles with plenty of power for a really enjoyable experience. Plus, if you want more than that, there's always Android handhelds and emulation. Tons

Is there a good portable gaming handheld that can handle PC games
Ayn Odin 2 portal / mini pro Ayn Thor Retroid Pocket 5/G2/6 These ones are on that price range, emulation is up to Switch and with Gamehub you can play steam games. So is up to whatever you like the most in terms of form factor

I wish I had a PSP too
I mean, not really. I still have my old PSPs but Id definitely reach for my Retroid Pocket 5 or Ayn Odin2 Portal all day over original hardware. Still just using a Bluetooth controller with your phone will probably work fine as well. PPSSPP is a great emulator, and depending on your device you easil

Looking for cheaper handheld options
In terms of specs I wouldn't go under a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for an android handheld or a Z1E for a PC handheld. It'll give you enough power and headroom to have PS2 emulation basically be plug and play without tweaking settings. Specific models to look for around $300 or less: Ayn Odin 2 Portal (7" 1

best non windows, portable handheld
Android Handhelds are more portable than any PC Handheld: - AYN Thor Base for Dual Screen Gaming $330- AYN Odin 3 (has more performance in PC Emulation) $350- Retroid Pocket 6 (5,5 inch) or AYN Odin 2 Portal (7 inch), for best price/performance (both costs under $250) All of them can play Switch, 3D

No More Handhelds
Disappointing, but I remain impressed at how long they supported it. I sold mine recently and it’s still in demand, but never for the prices they originally wanted. I bought mine used over two years ago for $200. As others have said, the Ayn Odin 2 Portal is easily the natural successor. If they cou
