The left joystick had issues where it was also causing other button inputs. I tried software corrections that didn’t alleviate the issue, so I ended up having to return the device. I'm going on the suspicion that you are absolutely wrong as both Ayn and ayaneo are switching their flag ship android handhelds to it. Same as using ddr4 vice ddr5 I can definitely use cheaper and get -5fps than pay more than my mortgage for an odin 3

Other than the handhelds you already mentioned, you would have to go used and older, such as an Ayaneo lite or a gpd win 3 or gpd win 4 (technically still current gen, not sure how it's price is). All of the handhelds in the ayaneo lite lineup perform worse than a steam deck, so be prepared for that
