Sadly $1600 for a cheap Asus build for a cpu that get crushed by a $1100 base M5 in a macbook air is crazy. Hope the Zenbook S14 with a 388H will be still under $2000

If battery life and overall polish matter most, I’d probably go with the MacBook Air (M5) since Apple Silicon is insanely efficient and the display is great. But if you want better compatibility for light gaming and more flexibility, the Asus Zenbook S14 with the Ultra 7 is a really solid pick.
