Anyone gotten a good fix for running Pi-hole on Xfinity?

Xfinity doesn't charge for modem rentals anymore, so it doesn't save money to switch to one's own. Just place the Xfinity provided modem in bridge mode and use one's own router that does allow DNS editing, it's how I do it. I have an Asus RT-BE92U for mine, as it has a 10gig WAN port meaning I can s

Should I get a Tri Band router?

I recently upgraded from a RT-AX86U (basically the WiFi 6 version of your router), and I purchased 2 x RT-BE92U, one as a router and one configured as a separate access point. The primary reason for the upgrade was to get access to the 6GHz band for a Quest 3 VR headset. Playing PCVR games via WiFi

Which Asus to buy

I have the RT-BE92U and have been really happy with it, besides some issues with early firmware. After the firmware issues were resolved it has been rock solid. Edit to add a few more details. If you can centrally locate the router it may be able provide decent coverage for the entire home. I have a

City Fibre Router suggestions?

I have had a great time with 2 of these https://www.asus.com/uk/networking-iot-servers/wifi-7/all-series/asus-rt-be92u/ Asus rt-be92u . It’s been really stable, great WiFi and after I went wrt based firmware like a decade ago it’s hard to go back to something more restrictive. I use this on gigabit

Wifi 6 router recommendation?

I bought an Asus RT-BE92U recently to replace (sort of) a pair of Asus ZenWiFi XT8 in an AiMesh. It's WiFi 7, 4 x 2.5Gbps LAN ports and 1 x 10Gbps WAN, Tri-band WiFi (very important for AiMesh imho) It's now my router and master node for my AiMesh, with the old XT8s now being (actually quite good) n

Aging router upgrade advice

If you are happy with your single all-in-one, there's no need to go with a mesh system. There's nothing "better" about it, it's usefulness is extending wifi coverage when you can't or won't wire an access point. Here are some suggestions within your budget. ASUS RT-BE86U (Wi-Fi 7): The top "all-roun

Which router should I go for: ASUS RT-BE92U or RT-AX86U Pro?

Both routers you named can’t get you the 10G speed you’re looking for. The rt-be92u has only one 10G port and the others are 2.5G ports, so the best you can expect would be 2.5Gb most likely through wired connection. The rt-ax86u has only one 2.5G port and the rest are 1G ports, so you’re bottleneck

Please help me pick a router - big budget

I'll most likely be downvoted, since Ubiquiti ,looks to be big here, but of these I'd go with the RT-BE96U tri-band. We have one of these and it works really well. Great wireless speed and coverage, and quite stable. Highly recommended. The RT-BE88U gets good reviews, but only two bands, which makes

New to home networking

I've got Asus AiMesh (it was called that before the recent AI boom) and it works very well. I have an RT-BE92U as my main router and then two ZenWifi XT8's and an RP-AX56. I had the ZenWifi's before buying the BE92U in AiMesh and upgraded to the BE92U and kept the old routers to expand my coverage.
