Looking for which of these ASUS routers to get ?

Do you need a 10GB WAN/LAN port (on the RT-BE86U)? If not, get the RT-BE82U. BE82U has max 2.5GB WAN and LAN ports, which should be fine for most people and seems to be more than enough for your requirements. Most of the other specs are the same or similar (1GB RAM on both; BE86U has slightly faster

R7800 Failing, new router?

I like Asus for all-in-one routers, and since you are familiar with custom firmware, you might be interested in Merlin compatible models. Also, the prices of "BE" (WiFi 7) models have come down enough that you should strongly consider buying one, even if you don't have a lot of WiFi 7 clients right

Need help choosing a router.

Whoa! $899 for a router? (ASUS GT-19000AI). Based on what your stated needs are, I agree with u/Junior_Resource_608 that this router may exceed your needs. The ASUS BT-BE98 Pro ($628) is also rather pricey. While you would know best what you truly need, I have some thoughts to share. I think you could

Has anyone used Deco or Asus system?

I have an ASUS Mesh. Primary node/router is a RT-BE96U. The satellite remote node is a RT-BE86U. I am linking the two on a 10Gb wired backbone. So far so good.

I need a new router

TLDR: I'd suggest the RT-BE82U for dual-band WiFi 7 (2.4ghz/5ghz) as it has 2.5gb WAN/LAN ports. I'd suggest the TUF-BE9400 for tri-band WiFi 7 (also has 2.5gb WAN/LAN ports) and also has 6ghz band if that is important. Details: Good options listed above (ASUS BE3600 or TP-Link BE6500) but I don't l

Looking for new(ish) consumer WiFi router suggestions

(Part 1/2) How large is the residence that needs WiFi coverage? On how many floors (looks like just two)? Are you interested in WiFi 6E or WiFi 7? What's your budget? I'll assume a maximum of $300 USD. I'll focus on WiFi 7 below, but if you specify additional requirements I could share additional re

What router should I buy?

For the AX Series the 5400 is my primary router and I use them for a mesh network. I would just go to the equivalent BE series for the newer higher throughput main connection needs. Whatever you decide the main router entry point for the ISP should be the best one in the series as it handles all the

Would the ASUS GT-AX11000 Pro be a good replacement for my ASUS RT-AC66U?

No problem, glad you found the details helpful. If you want to have the 6ghz band for WiFi 6E (and you are interested in ASUS routers) then ASUS makes a a WiFi 6E router that's a good deal right now on Amazon for $199.99 (ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 - 2.4ghz/5ghz/6ghz bands). The port selection is

what router to buy

It's a great deal. all 2.5G ports, Wi-Fi 7, 1GB Memory, 256MB Flash, Quad Core CPU. For 139. I'm looking for a second one, may have found it, but they only have 1, maybe not even have it. Not to mention the web admin UI is great, fast and snappy. There is also RT-BE92U, and RT-BE86U, but are quite a

Help deciding between new router for home

Absolutely do not buy the RT-AX86U Pro for $300. Looks like ASUS may not be selling/making this router anymore as you can't easily find it for sale and can't buy it from ASUS's website anymore. That's why you are seeing high prices. It was released in December of 2022 so it's an older WiFi 6 router.
