New customers...so far so good

Here are the options: Best: Two mesh wifi routers with Ethernet cable between them. Better: Two mesh wifi routers (no cable) Good: one higher end router (more coverage) I prefer Asus routers like BE86U but many people will recommend TP Link ones. Alternatively, you try if beacon 6 good enough.

Which router should I pick? Light gaming/remote work/4 people

I'm using the 1800s as a node and my main router is the RT-BE86U. I can say that the 1800s is holding up super well as a node. I recommend the ASUS.

Can anyone recommend a good router for gaming and light WiFi usage.

I’ve had good luck with ASUS. The app is user friendly with easy access to parental controls. I have a few of them. As I upgraded my main router I just switch the old to wired mesh nodes. What ever you get a dual band , 2.4 and 5ghz, is usually enough. There aren’t a lot of devices that use the 6ghz

Has anyone used Deco or Asus system?

I have an ASUS Mesh. Primary node/router is a RT-BE96U. The satellite remote node is a RT-BE86U. I am linking the two on a 10Gb wired backbone. So far so good.

Wifi signal into Ethernet

I was forced into a hybrid solution between floors. All 3 floors have ethernet but not in between. Bought 3 of these: RT-BE86U|WiFi Routers|ASUS Global. The routers connect to each other via mesh and propagate into ethernet on every floor. Seems to be working thus far but running ethernet would be 1

Home network upgrade -- Omada, Unifi, Instant On, Miraki??

can i skip the 2.5 gear and stick with 1gb gear -- and will i retain my 1.5gb service from my ISP?... or do I need to get 2.5 gear to see all 1.5... in an ideal world I realize xfi throttles data as they see fit You cannot get 1.5mbps throughput if your router and switch(es) only support 1GbE. You c

Just Upgraded

I’ve been looking at the ASUS RT-BE86U as well. I have the predecessor to it and it is a solid router with good features for VPN etc. throwing the WRT-Merlin opens up some fine tuning as well. I also like how it can do mesh with other ASUS routers.

Has anyone used Deco or Asus system?

No issues with the AiMesh, though I have MLO turned off due to losing a good few hundred mbps in speed tests for whatever reason. RT-BE86U main router 2x ET12 nodes 1Gb Ethernet backhaul
