RT-BE86U

No such pop-ups on my two RT-BE86U units; also mine have been rock-solid since installing them last November.

I bought the Asus RT-BE86U; being only dual-band is good enough for me, but it’s a tried-and-true rock-solid router! I really wanted to stick with the Asus brand.

I'm using the 1800s as a node and my main router is the RT-BE86U. I can say that the 1800s is holding up super well as a node. I recommend the ASUS.

I’ve had good luck with ASUS. The app is user friendly with easy access to parental controls. I have a few of them. As I upgraded my main router I just switch the old to wired mesh nodes. What ever you get a dual band , 2.4 and 5ghz, is usually enough. There aren’t a lot of devices that use the 6ghz

Personally, I wouldn't use TP Link anything. I would put the Home Hub in bridge mode and use an Asus RT-BE86U to reach those devices with reliable high speed. If the PC doesn't have WiFi 7, then the RT-AX86U should be fine for WiFi 6.

I got a RT-BE86u to replace my AC86u and absolutely love it. Merlin flashed on it too which works flawlessly as usual. Not sure on prices in AUD, but it was £200 on Prime Day and was worth every penny, I'd have been happy even if I paid full price.
