Quantum Fiber Q1000K and Transparent mode

Ok, solved the problem! Put Q1000K in transparent mode. Got white light. Set Asus router to Automatic IP, did NOT set VLAN 201 but did change DHCP action to Continous. Initially got the DHCP error but had to leave and left system in that state for a couple of hours. When I returned it was connected!

Best router for me suggestions please (Australia) 2k budget?

Wow if I'm honest AUD$1300 for a home router setup is insane. Even TP Link's own BE9700 would be more than adequate for under $400, and Ubiquiti or Asus offer equiv/superior options for the same money. I won't suggest any specific models as I don't know which manufacturers meet your Customer Support

Time for new router

If you want to stay with ASUS, some good upgrade options to WiFi 6 include ASUS RT-AX86U Pro (if available in your region, otherwise just AX86U), or ASUS RT-AX58U (RT-AX3000) for a lower cost option. For WiFi 7: If you don't need the 6ghz band of WiFi 7 then ASUS RT-BE58U is a good entry level route

Advice - 1200 Sq Ft House - Router Recs?

Hardwire everything you can. I just got an ASUS RT-BE82U which is dual band and has been very stable, although most of the time most of my traffic runs over wired. I have 33 total devices right now. The BE82U is dual-band, they also have tri-band models if you have devices that support 6GHz or are u

PS5 and ASUS BE82U issue

It might not be the router itself. The PlayStation 5 speed test can be pretty inconsistent and often depends on Sony’s servers. Even with a fast router like the ASUS RT-BE82U, results can vary a lot. You could try testing the same Ethernet cable and port with a PC to see if you can hit closer to 900

Wifi router

Pretty much any router will work fine for what you have. The Gl.iNet Flint 3 (GL-BE9300) is a good router with 2.5GbE WAN and LAN ports and tri-band WiFi 7 (2.4, 5 & 6GHz WiFi) for around $210. The Asus RT-BE82U also has 2.5GbE WAN and LAN ports, but with dual-band WiFi 7 (no 6GHz) for around $170.

What router/modem combo to get

As I understand it from others on here, Windstream fiber doesn’t use a modem, just an ONT that connects to a router. That router can be theirs or yours. If you want to use your own, these should handle a 2gb connection: GL.iNet Flint 3 (GL-BE9300) TP-Link Archer BE9300 ASUS RT-BE82U The main things

RT-BE58U vs. RTBE82U for 2.4 GHz?

They are very similar: https://www.asus.com/my/product-compare?ProductID=26424,30794&LevelId=Networking-IoT-Servers-WiFi-7 Main differences: RT-BE82U has five 2.5gb ports and a 4x4 antenna for 5ghz (instead of 2x2 on RT-BE58U). They are both dual-band WiFi 7 routers (2.4ghz & 5ghz bands) with the sa
