ASUS RT-AX86U (Merlin): How to allow kids content for 20 mins, then auto-block for 2 hours (network-wide)?
Phones can bypass any restrictions you implement on the network simply by turning off the WiFi and using LTE. Unless the kids are using deactivated phones that are 100% reliant on WiFi. Kids can and will learn how to change DNS on individual devices in order to zip right around whatever content limi

Streaming U.S. content
Install the VPN directly on the router, most proper ones support that. I've got the Asus RT-AX88U, 6 years old and working like a charm. That way your phone and TV are on the same network for screen casting, but you can also just use apps directly on the TV or Apple TV, since everything connected to

Best home wifi router?
Hey! With a $500 budget, you’ve got some awesome choices. For solid coverage (up to or beyond 5000 sq ft) and gigabit speeds, I’d go with a TP-Link Deco XE75 Pro mesh system Wi-Fi 6E, super reliable, and great range even into the garage.. If you prefer a single powerful router, the ASUS RT-AX88U or

Which Asus router ASUS RT-BE92U OR ASUS RT-BE88U?
I recommend ASUS whenever people ask. I have a previous gen RT-AX88U which still kicks hard. It only has 1Gbps ports, but can bind two to give 2Gbps. The newer versions support WiFi I don’t have on my devices, and there are a couple VLAN things mine doesn’t do. It has great range and works with mesh

Home routers with VLAN support
Minipc N100 running OPNSense + Adguard for routing / firewall / DNS. MikroTik CRS310-8G+2S+in switches and for wireless, use Asus RT-AX88U Pro in AP mode. Everything can be configured with VLAN and is rock solid stable.

Splitting wifi bands
Splitting the bands is honestly your safest bet here, especially with a busy household. Bell’s Gigahub 2.0 can handle a lot, but when 10+ devices fight for 5 & 6GHz, even Bell can’t work miracles—unlike Rogers, whose routers seem allergic to multiple connections. Keep an eye on which devices hog ban

I fried my home router by being an idiot, tell me what I should've gotten instead for ~$130
I've been more than pleased with my Asus RT-AX88U. It has been far the best home router I've had at home and I've had networks in my house in the late 1990's.

Router recommendations?
I'm running an Asus RT-AX88U Pro with Merlin firmware and two Pi-holes. DNS Director in the Merlin firmware is awesome.

Finally received my Starlink kit
118,000LKR for the kit and 15,000LKR monthly + mounts for roof or pole etc. After a while they will show up on the used market for less. I use my Starlink back in the UK with an Asus RT-AX88U. Super easy to put into bridge mode. The app is great.

can't get app connected to Aiden
I was finally able to solve this. I noticed that even though pairing in the app failed with the "Incorrect password" message, the wifi info shown on the device (SSID, IP address) showed a correct IP address for the router’s LAN subnet, indicating that at a minimum, DHCP negotiation had completed suc
