What is a rock-solid affordable router for an average family?
I have built a 5-node mesh system with those Asus routers (RT-68U + RT-AC66U B1 + RT-AX86U) for my house, garage and guest house, works great!. Bought them all for around 25€ per unit on Facebook Marketplace :-)
Insane stuttering only in CS2 please help!
you have awful packet and command queue loss & jitter lower left build info offers the most reliable network telemetry at a glance https://www.reddit.com/comments/1luxauu/BUILD_INFO_REFERENCE/n23umpl/ top right telemetry is only good for fps; for networking is worse than useless, it's deceivingevery...
How do yall game on this thing?
It’s definitely your network setup. I play everything on my AVP flat games with Moonlight and PCVR with ALVR using PSVR2 controllers. My Quest 3 is officially retired. ( my router Asus RT-AX86U )
NBN upgrade has made me find out how many bad cables I have
I'm loving my Wifi6 Asus RT-AX86U. The signal is strong across the entire house (where I used to need multiple access points) and I can use all the bandwidth of my new 500/50 plan almost everywhere.
Greenlight!
When I got Greenlight four years ago you had to buy your own router. I bought a Asus RT-AX86U and nearly choked on the price, But it has been worth the money. It has been very reliable, can handle the speed, has great WiFi range and has lots of really useful features that cheaper routers don’t have....
Please suggest a decent upgrade from a wrt54g
I still have this in my 'box o tech' in the attic that I haven't tossed yet. It was a good one. The Asus RT-AX86U Pro is a wifi 6e router with mesh capability that I can personally recommend.
Optimum - have you purchased your own modem?
Yes. If you are unaware how to set it up, it’s not too difficult with a little research. You will need to have optimum activate it, but I believe you can do this online without calling anyone. It depends on what speed you have which modem /router you’d want. But I’d highly recommend not getting an a...

Bell like Asus router ax86u pro. I like big b and I cannot lie
Finally got own router installed and ditched Hub Pro
A lot of youfibre customers could do themselves a massive favour by simply ditching the supplied router, as they are barely adequate. Middling performance. I have two ASUS RT-AX86U Pro, for full house coverage, and they perform flawlessly.
Good home router's with long term security support?
I have had the ASUS 86U routers for more than a decade. I’d still be using the first one if it wasn’t for lightning. The replacement router an RT-AX86U Pro has been in operation for a couple of years now and I use Asuswrt-Merlin firmware rather than ASUS. Asuswrt-Merlin updates firmware components m...
