14,000 routers are infected by malware that's highly resistant to takedowns - Ars Technica
I've had to replace the ASUS RT-AX86U Pro (AX5700) Dual Band WiFi 6 Extendable Gaming Router twice at one location for odd behavior that I couldn't get rid of after being used for a few months. It was being used strictly as an Wifi AP behind a different brand firewall but it wouldn't let any of the

How do I route this
The way to maximize speed or maximize the Internet connection would be to use the GT-BE98 with the 10Gbs WAN connection going to the 5gbs Modem (assuming the 10Gbs port will negotiate downward to 5Gbs). You'd then connect the RT-AX86 to one of the 2.5Gbs LAN ports. If you want a device to actually u

Is Ubiquiti UniFi Dream 7 a solid router/AP to upgrade from Apple AirPort Extreme?
Yeah I’m not really looking for a mesh system, and while the RT-AX86U seems alright, I can’t find it in stock anywhere locally. I’ve also heard it might stop getting active firmware updates soon as it’s pretty old. I’m kinda looking to upgrade my setup, not just with Wi-Fi 6, but also maybe 6E and 2

Suggestions for upgrading from RT-AC86U
Asus routers are good but there's a lot of firmware issues. I had ax86u pro and sold it off just because every update broke something. I would probably recommend you flint but if u want asus buy it and just use most stable firmware and don't upgrade

Power issue with ASUS RT-AX86U AX5700
Just dropping a line here since your reddit post was first come up. I wanted to say I had the same issue with my RT-AX86U after approx 3.5 years in service. A little disappointed since I've been pleased with multiple ASUS routers in the past with 5+ years, only replacing due to new technology and no

I can't stand that Steam Remote Play is in that bad shape for so long
For real? I have an ASUS rt-ax86u. It streams great for like 10 minutes and then I get the red signal thing and it completely craps out. Can’t play whatsoever. I’ve tried EVERYTHING. And my computer is hardwired.

I have both a RT-AX86U ( Not the gimped and not the pro model) running the latest merlin, Then I swapped out to an ET8, thinking the wan port had gone south, I have reset the nvram, and restoreed to factory settings then back to Merlin, set up router settings manual, did not import. I am getting ran

Best performing 5-gbit /10gig capable router.
How many devices are you running through it. Currently I have RT-AX86U Pro, and it sometimes struggles with encrypted VPN connections, meaning CPU overload.

Best Router for Fios
Depends how much you want to spend, what speed you're looking for, what your usage is like, what features you want, how big your house is, etc. First, almost any router with a gigabit WAN port and wifi 6 or higher is going to be on par or better than the one Verizon rents out. My last two routers we

Getting slow upload speeds
826 down and 131 up on a speed test from your device? I think it's an Asus problem. I had the same problem. I switched to Ubiquiti and upload is consistently 800+, download 900+. For reference I had the RT-AX86U Pro. I switched to the Dream Router 7.
