usually they want you to swap over to the latest DOCIS spec'd modem they support because its cheaper for them bandwidth wise. as for a router, I'd suggest a RT-AX58U, supports wifi 6, cheap, reliable.

The ASUS RT-AX58U V2 should do the job nicely. Its AX with 160mhz channel width.
