What is a rock-solid affordable router for an average family?
If that Asus is the RT-AC68U then it's at least meshable if you buy a newer Asus router to use as your main router. That's one of the things that I like about using AiMesh. You can get a better router, and still put your old one to work somewhere else in the house. My current RT-AX68U Pro replaced b

Should I Reboot my NTD
It was 10 years old. ASUS RT-AC68U. It was great until I upgrade from 100 Mbps FTTC to 500 Mbps FTTP. The Asus could still pump out 500+ over wifi but only at short range. I’ve got a Flint 2 now.

New router recommendations and understanding wifi 7
Most more-than-basic wireless routers will allow you to set up your network the way you want it. You can assimilate all bands into the same SSID or you can separate your 2.4G and 5G networks (and 6G for Wifi 7) into different SSIDs. If you assign SSIDs like your previous wireless router (and use the

Keep losing internet but modem is on
The lan wifi is horrible. I connected an old asus ac68u and have much better .... lan activity. I just upgrade from the sagecom to the g5ar and the local lan is to say the least.. a cluster fuck. The wan speeds are faster to the tmo internet... but after a week of lan work with the g5ar I am having

Como escolher um roteador? (eeeeeeeeeeeee)

Recommendations for setup
I own a bunch of Ubiquiti gear (but not any of their APs) and while it works great you do need to be a lot more comfortable managing your network than you do with consumer-oriented gear like Asus. I'd suggest looking at mesh Wi-Fi systems where you get multiple APs and can place them as needed for b

Need a decent router
That model does support it. I have it. I use an ROG AX11000 paired with the AC68U and I have very good coverage and speeds.

Bang-for-buck wifi router recommendations
Can't go wrong with any of the modern Asus routers tbh. I have an AX11000 and an Ac68U connected with Ai mesh for coverage all over the house (4 bed semi), the garage and down my garden. Good thing about them is u can connect other Asus' down the line if u wish, with their own Asus AI mesh software

What is a rock-solid affordable router for an average family?
Get the Wi-Fi gen that supports most of your devices. At home, about 90% of our devices are Wi-Fi 5. We've been using the RT-AC68U (identical to AC-1900) for about 8 years now without any issues. Can still get good Wi-Fi between 3-4 walls. However, be aware of recent "backdoors" warnings with Asus r

Don't see a good reason to upgrade Asus RT-AC68U other than updates
I hope I'm not tempting fate here, but my RT-AC68U router has been great since I bought it new back in 2016. It just works, and is fast enough. I've also been using the Merlin firmware for quite a while for some of the additional features like VPN Server etc. and it'll be a sad day when it has to go
