I have the legendary AC68U (actually TM-AC1900 from t-mobile, but flashed). 10+ yrs later, still running like a champ as of now.

I'd been using it for over 10 years, it served me so well. Just tonight my unit stopped working...FYI they still update the firmware, the last one dated 2025/10/27, very recent:https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-wifi-routers/rtac68u/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=RTAC68U Other m

OP I'm experiencing a different issue but only on Apple hardware. Recently upgraded from Asus RT-AC68U to ASUS RT-BE88U to support my new fibre connection. Always ran Merlin firmware on them too. With the new ASUS RT-BE88U the Apple devices seem to connect fine, but after long periods on no use they

I still have a Asus AC-68U/AC 1900 I used for like 6 years. I use all Ubiquiti stuff now but I keep it for a backup. If I was looking for a consumer wireless router I'd go for a newer Asus. I had a tplink on that was just a cheap temporary one that I used when we moved and my Asus accidently got bur

Breathed new life into my Asus RT-AC68U. Enabled CTF and it's blazing away been up for over 10 days - something that had become impossible with some of the more recent DD-WRT releases. Thanks for your work on this project! Donation sent.

Get the Wi-Fi gen that supports most of your devices. At home, about 90% of our devices are Wi-Fi 5. We've been using the RT-AC68U (identical to AC-1900) for about 8 years now without any issues. Can still get good Wi-Fi between 3-4 walls. However, be aware of recent "backdoors" warnings with Asus r

Hi, I switched to openwrt-lede years ago because of the sqm-qos to reduce bufferbloat. To be honest I've always found dd-wrt release management very messy. WiFi performance imho depends of several factors and the first one is the hardware. Usually you don't have the chance to test the same WiFi rout

I did a factory reset, didn't really help. I moved my old ASUS RT-AC68U to the basement and even devices from the 1. floor got a much better and stable wifi connection to this old router 2 floors and accross the building than to the new BE68U which is directly below them. I just sent a feedback form

I was thinking about upgrading my 2 routers from an AC68U (main router) and an AC66U (bridge) to 2 new BE86Us. My AC66U was on the latest Merlin FW but kept having issues. I found a newer official FW from asus and flashed that and performed a reset after the flash. It seems to be stable now. My AC68
