Zenbook S16 or Zephyrus G14
For Graphics design I'd recommend going with the zephyrus g16 especially if 3d modeling and gaming is something you'll be doing. However I'm not finding any zephyrus g16 models currently on sale at 1,500, recently released models look to be starting around the 2,000 range for the base model. Even th

My dad had promised me to get a gaming laptop for myself after boards
Only pay that much for a 4060, when the laptop has a great screen, and premium build. I bought a Zephyrus G16 4060 for 1.7L, Has a 2.6K OLED 240Hz screen, sleek asf only 1.5KG, looks like a MacBook on steroids. Lenovo is infamous for its cheap materials, go for ASUS ROG

Which engineering laptop should I get from this list
Why does this feel like a claude recommendation? (edit: op mentioned it is, my bad) Almost none of those are any good for engineering, especially those MSI katanas. The dell is okay but trust me, it's that frustrating sibling who wanted to look like Alienware but couldn't grow up from the dell gamin

[G16] GU605 with 64GB RAM vs GU606 with 32GB RAM
i feel you on this decision - those specs are close. for solidworks and autocad, that 64gb ram on the 2025 model will matter more than the cpu bump on the 2026. those engineering apps eat memory especially with assemblies. the 5090 also crushes the 5070 ti for elden ring and bg3 at higher settings.

Are gaming laptops a thing?
I have an Asus Zephyrus G16 that I like a lot. It was pretty expensive but it can play most new games on high settings. The fans spin up a lot which is a little annoying, but it’s to be expected with a gaming laptop. I don’t really play many very graphically intense games but I like to know that I c

just picked up this beauty
While the $3200 g16 64gb ram 2tb ssd deal is still there at $4319, they did bring back an Open Box 32gb/1tb same specs. https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/gaming-laptops/279353/asus-rog-zephyrus-g16-16-oled-ultra-9-285h-rtx-5070-ti-32gb-1tb-gu605cr-rs96-ca.html for $3150, i would go check it out. Is it just me, or has laptop build quality actually plummeted since 2022? Even the 'premium' lineups feel like plastic toys now."
My 2024 ROG Zephyrus G16 is actually built really well. You can still get high-quality. You just have to pay a very, very large premium for it.
