Hey OP - I just checked the Asus US site and I do see the 5080 SKU listed now. But damn, its 4800... yea I'm wondering if they were better off not listing it given I can't imagine ANYONE is paying almost 5K for a 5080 14inch + 1TB SSD laptop when just last year $4K got you a 5090 + 64GB RAM + 2TB in

Windows laptop. I teach computer science and my Assembly Language class literally can't be done on a Mac (mac students have to remote in to windows machines to do their work). Asus Zephyrus G16, never had an issue with it.

Zero crashes on my device, no overheating. I have a ROG Zephyrus G16 4090 too and that thing needs a cooling pad. The Flow is fine by itself.

Disclaimer: I'm not Canadian. I have, however, owned both MSI and Asus ROG gaming laptops. The short version is it really depends on the model, not the brand. There's some cheaper MSI machines that aren't too great and have users reporting hinge issues... but that's kind of the case across the board

Look up the compatibility for the games you want to play, if they work on the Mac then get that. If they don't then get a ROG Zephyrus G16 or a Framework 16

Feel your pain OP! We’ve been a Mac family for 20+ years so this has been my personal struggle 🤣 and son just isn’t interested (im sure he’ll thank me later!).Think the machine I’ve landed on is overkill…but it’ll get him through a good 6 years w grad school. ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G16 14" AMD Ryzen 9

sure. here are my notes. I can elaborate on them if you really want. All my drivers/firmware were up-to-date. Tried several different (older) NVIDIA drivers but alas nothing worked. Removed armor crate, installed GHelper. ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G16 16" '25 OLED 2.5K 240Hz Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ult
