I do occasional video editing, a lot of adobe lightroom, and I did most of my computer science degree on one. I also have an Asus ROG G14 gaming laptop with a 3060 in it, which is more capable than the macbook, but for day to day stuff it feels like junk to use in comparison.

Hey OP - I just checked the Asus US site and I do see the 5080 SKU listed now. But damn, its 4800... yea I'm wondering if they were better off not listing it given I can't imagine ANYONE is paying almost 5K for a 5080 14inch + 1TB SSD laptop when just last year $4K got you a 5090 + 64GB RAM + 2TB in

Asus' premium laptop offerings are so disjointed. The Zephyrus G14 is prime candidate for Strix Halo. Didn't get it. The TUF A14 does get it, but is LCD only. You also need to pay for the 12-core version even if you don't need it because they're "evaluating" the 388. Then we have this thing. Fully u

If you are lame and don't wanna read the whole thing. An employee brought us the Zephyrus G14 on accident instead of the Asus TUF F16. It turned out to be way better for me, so I ended up buying it, good laptop 9.9 out of 10. Update: The Asus TUF 16 model was a 5060 with 32gb, It would not have been

Liquid metal was a bad idea by ASUS and frankly more of marketing stunt. Perhaps even planned obsolescence. After swapping LM for PTM7950, my G14 doesn't behave chaotic as it did all the time before. I saw some spots on the die, I think it was the CPU.

As much as its nice to see it competing with low powered 4050. The 4050 and even full powered 5050 and 5060 laptops are significantly cheaper than the B390 laptops. You can get 5070 to 5070 ti laptops for the price of of laptops using the b390 On Best Buy Dells XPS 14 is 2249 with the X9 388H with 3

Dude, ugh. I am an original G14 supporter. I saw them putting Ryzen in a laptop and bought it immediately. I've loved mine for almost 6 years rnow. I REALLY wanted to give Asus my money for a new laptop, but the mid-spec trim in the US is like $1650.... with only 16GB of RAM. My similar spec machine

Congrats on finally finding "the one". Just curious, what didn't you like about the Macbook Air? Also, was the Asus gaming laptop a G14? I have a G14 and it has not been reliable hah.
