ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025)

I do occasional video editing, a lot of adobe lightroom, and I did most of my computer science degree on one. I also have an Asus ROG G14 gaming laptop with a 3060 in it, which is more capable than the macbook, but for day to day stuff it feels like junk to use in comparison.

Asus' premium laptop offerings are so disjointed. The Zephyrus G14 is prime candidate for Strix Halo. Didn't get it. The TUF A14 does get it, but is LCD only. Liquid metal was a bad idea by ASUS and frankly more of marketing stunt. Perhaps even planned obsolescence. After swapping LM for PTM7950, my G14 doesn't behave chaotic as it did all the time before. I saw some spots on the die, I think it was the CPU.

Dude, ugh. I am an original G14 supporter. I saw them putting Ryzen in a laptop and bought it immediately. I've loved mine for almost 6 years rnow. I REALLY wanted to give Asus my money for a new laptop, but the mid-spec trim in the US is like $1650.... with only 16GB of RAM. My similar spec machine
