I do not think you highlighted the handheld situation enough: The Asus ROG Xbox Ally non-X (with Z2 A chip) is the weakest of the bunch followed by the Asus ROG non-Xbox Ally non-X (with Z1 non-Extreme chip), but I think they are not worth purchasing or thought at all because the Steam Deck is cheap

Very similar to what Asus tried to pull in that Gamersnexus' video where they sent an Rog Ally for repairs (it was the joystick iirc). They replied with a picture of a minuscule nick on the shell and tried to charge them for that instead, which wasn't even related to the issue they RMA'd it for. The

I had the ally z1e and that was something that I hated from AMD & ASUS, that drivers could not be directly downloaded from AMD. After buying the 8ai + it was so refreshing that I could download drivers directly from Intel, something AMD needs to do as well.

We really need better communication from Asus. They can’t just release a shitty driver and not say anything about it and then go months without releasing a new one. I’m getting graphics driver updates on my Nvidia card every week and I’ll be lucky to get one that doesn’t completely break everything

Z1 SoC driver support was absolute shit by AMD though. No denying that. As an ASUS ROG Ally owner, they fucked us.
