Well, since the awaited new Studio Display still sucks and is expensive af, what alternatives do you recommend?
ASUS ProArt Display 27” 5K HDR Professional Monitor (PA27JCV) - it's less expensive and very color accurate and beautiful. It also has a matte texture that keeps fonts crisp. Highly recommend. I just got a new m4 Mac mini also and this was what I ended up with and I couldn't be happier.

So there are no GLOSSY 5K@120 Hz option if I don't wanna spend 3K on the ASD XDR ?
I used a nano texture 2022 ASD before and I now HATE every matte panel. 5K doesn't look sharp. But you did like the nano-texture (NT) on the ASD? I checked the default ASD and the NT one. I didn’t like the NT, because of the grain on the whites and that it diminishes the otherwise sharp 5K image. I

What 27” 5K to wait for?
If you’re not in a rush, you might as well wait at least 5 to 6 months. Current 5K displays (that I know of): ASUS ProArt PA27JCV (IPS: 5K 60Hz, $598.54) strong matte coating (similar to Apple’s nano-texture) which to my eyes diminishes the sharpness of text. clean, minimal design (it has character

Which is the best monitor worth buying for Mac Mini you've ever tried?
I think if you are going to buy one monitor, the Studio Display. All around good experience. My secondary monitor is the ASUS PA27JCV and this has good text quality. This one is in well under $1k. I had a 4k pro-Art and the text was unacceptable. Do not get 4k!

LG UltraGear evo 27GM950B-B Early Impressions
Mine also arrived early and I actually had just returned a PA27JCV similar to OP. I have it connected with a usb-c/tb to DisplayPort cable from a MacBook Pro M5 Pro, and looks/works great at 5k/165hz. FWIW when connecting usb-c on my work MacBook M3 Max to usb-c on the monitor I’m getting 90w PD as

Well, since the awaited new Studio Display still sucks and is expensive af, what alternatives do you recommend?
Yeah that one is great. I have the gamer variant, the ASUS ROG Strix 5K XG27JCG (Strix 5K). Currently at €749, it is about the same price as when the PA27JCV (ProArt 5K) launched last year. The Strix 5K has up to 180Hz in 5K (currently macOS maxes out at 165 Hz, though). Gamut is a bit lower, but mo

Best 6K matte alternative to Pro Display XDR for video editing/color grading in SDR?
I had the smaller brother of the ProArt, the PA27JCV. I compared the coating with Apple’s nano-texture, and though the technology is different, in practice they were very similar. The color profiles using the onboard controls or the DisplayWidget software is very convenient. Blacks were very deep. I

I'm currently using Asus Proart 5K display (PA27JCV). Great monitor for the price.

New 27" 5k monitors from CES 2026?
not new but the Asus ProArt Display PA27JCV still looks like a solid display. I'm also thinking about getting two if i don't like the two 24" 2k Monitors i have with the new mac studio.
