My endgame machine arrived - Ascaso Baby T Plus

Got this straight from the Ascaso factory in Barcelona to Iceland, in a custom colour. Upgraded from a Steel Duo v2. We loved the Steel Duo and it served us well for 2 years, but this is a different beast entirely. The steam power is ridiculous, and the constant pressure from the rotary pump, with n

What was your next upgrade after the breville bambino?

Ascaso Steel Duo PID. Best decision so far. The controllable PID, the adjustable OPV and the big jump in steam power are a game changer. Shots are much tastier and way more consistent too. It probably won't be my end game setup, but as of now, I don't have any machine that triggers my upgradetitis.

What actually makes an espresso machine better than another?

It’s been tested and verified - at least for home use a good thermoblock or thermojet is just as stable as a coneventional machine (especially HX, but also dual boiler). Do you really think a Zuriga or Decent will produce „weak shots“. Believe what you want - I think boiler machines are a concept of

Budget is not a problem, but I can’t find an option better than Bambino, why?

Upgraded from a BBP to an Ascaso Duo & replaced the encore ESP with a Lagom Casa. I am one happy & emotionally stable home barista

Budget is not a problem, but I can’t find an option better than Bambino, why?

For what it's worth the move from a Bambino to a Gaggimate modded Gaggia classic has been massive. The Bambino doesn't get hot enough to properly extract anything above medium dark roast coffee. The pre-infusion function on mine didn't properly saturate the puck either. That's all before you get int

Ascaso Steel duo plus vs Lelit Mara X V2 [3000$]

Another Ascaso Steel Duo PID owner here, and another glowing review. Been a dream since day one, couldn’t be happier. Makes great coffee, very stable on back to back shots, quality of the machine feels nice and the tank is brilliant for refilling. All that, PLUS a few minutes heat up time? Hard to b

What dual thermoblock machines out there?

4 months into my Ascaso Steel Duo PID Plus ownership here. Here are my pros and cons: Pros Fast heat up. 5 mins with the portafilter in the group head and a quick flush = ready for business Can pull a shot and steam at the same time Fantastic back-to-back consistency Engaging u/x with the clicky swi

What machine [~$2k?, as little as possible:)]

Dude I’m in the same position and when I learned about e61 group heads I didn’t really want to deal with the heat up times there either so it’s been tough to find the “right one” to pull the trigger on Leaning Ascaso Steel Duo PID Plus at the moment

Upgrading from Bambino--but how far to jump? [US$2000]

I have a Bambino too, and I have been thinking about the same thing. I ended on the Ascaso Steel Duo PID too. I really like it, but I've decided to simply keep running my bambini until it dies. I really like the espresso I get from it and even though it is limited to darker roasts, I still love them
