I've had a couple of ascaso machines, currently own the dream oud, but had the steel duo. Only complaint I've ever had was temperature calibration not being done from the factory. Never experienced any other issue and always recommend ascaso.

Ascaso Steel Duo all the way, it's a more capable machine and consumes significantly less energy. I don’t know how much the Breville will cost you, but I was able to get the Ascaso Dream PID for same price as the retail price of Barista Pro. So if anything, get a Dream PID, or go straight for Duo. Breville price isn’t great and you’re stuck with all that plastic parts in the machine.
