How far did you jump from GCP, not because you could, because of taste [No budget]

I very honestly believe that in terms of espresso taste a modified Gaggia is top tier. The ability to do pressure and flow profiling opens up a completely new potential which most high-end machines cannot provide. I could only imagine that e.g. a Decent, Meticulous or San Remo You could be somewhat

Ascaso Steel Duo Plus

I‘ve seen so many videos about it that I didn‘t even bother trying it. From what I remember, the sensor is not at the best place so you can‘t really get consistent extractions. But I already knew I wouldn‘t use that feature before buying the machine. I prefer pulling every shot manually anyway. If I

Whats Advantage of the Steel Duo Plus outside of the accessories

The drip tray on the steel duo non plus gets messy. The grill from the baby t they put on the plus is much better. The steam lever looks cooler and is easier to use. The bottomless portafilter is… marginal value IMO. I got a walnut bottomless for like $40 off Etsy and it is excellent. I wish Ascaso

Gaggiuino

100% agree with everyone else here! The Gaggiuino was probably the best upgrade in my coffee journey and the pressure and flow profiling will unlock things in coffee you cannot really get to with straight bar machines. I kind of regret getting an Ascaso Steel Duo PID before because I will always pre

What would be your “one-and-done” espresso machine?

It doesn't exist as far as I can tell but here are some that are close: Breville Dual Boiler IF it had flow control from the factory and a completely different look lol. I don't hate it but we're talking dream machines here. Ascaso Steel Duo PID Plus IF it had flow control, shot programming could be

Considering the Ascaso Steel Duo Plus but have concerns

I was considering the Ascaso Steel Duo Plus but some things discouraged me; the plug that you need an adapter for (why in the world would a new machine not be plug-in ready??), the rattling noise while heating up for steaming, the top of the machine is slanted sending the cups towards the back and t

Upgrade from Rancilio Siliva V5 to Ascaso Steel Duo PID V1 / Profitec GO [~400 €]

I would argue against Ascaso. I have Dream Pid and Duo Steel Pid and both machines are very flimsy. Duo has very quirky steam and Dream is very weak if the puck in't prepped good enough. I would go with Profitec which I would buy if it would fit my coffee corner. I was in the shop for measurement an

This setup is bonkers

Thanks for replying. I had Prestigio for 3 years and Opera for 1 year so far. Fortunately never had a single issue. But I agree that the non removable hopper is dumb - it was removable in its predecessor. I also have a Timemore Sculptor 064S and a Cafelat Robot. But I mostly use Opera and the intern

Please convince me NOT to buy a La Marzocco Linea Mini R

This post is a year old so I’d assume you’ve made your decision. I would say for anyone who is contemplating this machine, if the price is not an object and after doing your research it’s something you’d really like, go for it! However, I’ve no opinion on the Marzocco since I’ve just recently seen t
