I am new to Arlo, bought it all used. Have 2 bases and 8 cameras. All get recording (Arlo Pro 1) except an Arlo Pro 4 which requires subscription. I just don’t use the 4. Ultra 2 Motion detection
I had arlo for 10 years before I finally left. I had the Gen 1 and the the Arlo pro 4 XL I finally left when they hiked up the subscription to $20+ per month and when they updated their app which completely broke my system. I persevered with them because I was so vested with them. Their servers cons

I’m Done, Finally
I have officially left Arlo 2 days ago after using it for 2 years. I removed all 3 cameras (Arlo Pro 4 2K video) + keypad + door sensor + the hub. Also canceled the super expensive $300 subscription. Installed 2 Eufy E40 2K cameras + keypad + door sensor. I've already owned 1 Eufy 4K cam & Eufy S380
