Just got an ultra! What should I know?
Congratulations on your new watch! I just bought an Ultra 2 and love it. Some of my first downloads were Bevel, Hevy, WorkOutDoors and Auto Sleep. If you find that the battery isn't lasting you all day and you find yourself charging it a lot, I would look into replacing the battery. Out of curiosity

Garmin vs Apple
I have a Fenix 7 and an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and tried both. I’m an older endurance athlete and am using Bevel with longevity in mind. I have found that the sleep and recovery data in Garmin is pretty inaccurate for me and with longevity and recovery being important I decided to use the Apple Watch.

Series 10 to Fenix 8 to Ultra 3
I have a slightly different take here. I own an AWU and AWU2. And a Garmin Epix Pro 2 Sapphire. I train most days. Obstacle course racing and shorter triathlon. Play racquet sports and golf. For my needs, the Apple Watch Ultra (with a couple of 3rd party apps) is perfect. Really accurate, easy to us

Series 5 to Series 11 -> 30 days later -> I'm not impressed
I’m going to get shit on for this but Apple Watches are e-waste. There really hasn’t been any improvements to these in years. I had a series 5 and just got a 11 titanium and tbh other than the brighter bigger screen there’s almost no difference. Sure you get some extra sensors and they act like ther

Opinions on watches?
I tried out the CMF Pro a couple of weeks ago when I switched to Nothing after a lifetime of Apple products. The watch was nice, but felt too small/light for my liking (at least in part because I was used to the AW Ultra 2). I tried it out for a week and it worked fine, I just prefer something a lit

Garmin converts…convince me to keep my AWU3
I had a Series 9 Watch, and decided to upgrade to either AWU2 or FR970. Really wanted the FR970 ever since Garmin released it. So I compared the prices that I could get them for and the marketing info. My last Garmin was a FR620 so that may have colored my expectations of the 970 beyond Garmin’s des

Switching from AWU1 to Instinct 3 (or vice versa). Any regrets regarding data accuracy?
Isn't perfect but it works. I don't see the point really unless you want to swap devices back and forth and use Bevel as the hub, why deal with it otherwise when everything you need is in Garmin natively. Whoop also suing Bevel so we'll see what happens there, in the meantime it makes more sense as

Switching from AWU1 to Instinct 3 (or vice versa). Any regrets regarding data accuracy?
I have Instinct 2X and AWU2. The sleep tracking is way better at Apple Watch. I haven’t gotten any problems regarding gps or HR accuracy on the Instinct! ”Is the data "cleaner" on the Apple side or "more detailed" on the Garmin side?” Yes. Hehe. I believe that the data is cleaner on the Apple side,

How are these not dominating the market?
I sent my t-Rex 3 back and got an AW Ultra 2 instead. Couldn’t be happier! The battery life on the t-Rex was amazing, and it was full of useful features, but a few things let it down for me: Requires more setup out of the box to get it right for you. Apple Watch just works seamlessly if you’re alrea

Running
I ran with AWU2 for about a year before going back to Garmin. I could make the AWU2 work for me and there are a lot of good running apps in the AppStore - WorkOutDoors, Outsiders, Zones, etc. I ultimately went back to Garmin because I greatly prefer buttons to Apple’s touch interface. Longer battery
