Any gone from Garmin back to AW? If so why?

I started with an Apple Watch, moved to a Fenix 6, then went back and forth between different watches for a while before eventually settling on the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Since then, I’ve tried the Fenix 7, Instinct, and several others. But I always end up coming back to my AWU2.Why? Convenience. The A

Apple Watch Ultra: Apple’s Most Pointless Product

It’s a fantastic product. Probably my favorite apple product of all time. I use it to track my running (wore it for marathons and shorter races too, will wear for my upcoming 50k also). Not to discount a Garmin, but I don’t want two watches when one will do the job of both. When I start doing 100-mi

What kind of technology and apps do you carry?

Why are you bringing the iPad Mini in your daypack? Are you planning on actively editing photos/videos while you walk? I love my Apple Watch Ultra 2. I used it on my last two Caminos to track my daily stages and since I have the cellular version, it acts as a backup if something ever happens to my p

I’m planning to switch from Apple Watch to Garmin, i feel Garmin give accurate workout data as compared to Apple. I also feel the heart rate function is not accurate on Apple Watch while I run

I don't know how it is with the latest Garmin models, but my Fenix 7 X Pro provides the same data as the AWU2. I tested this at the beginning by doing various workouts with both watches in sync. The AWU reacted faster to heart rate fluctuations than the Garmin, which is better for interval training.

Thought you guys might appreciate this

Apple Watch SE 1, then 2, then Ultra 2 was my “OG” dumb phone after I stopped using my flip phone. It had everything I needed, music, calling, texting, etc. but the problem was eventually it became stressful that you HAD to have it rely on your iPhone at home when its easily capable of being a stand

Apple Watch Ultra 2, still don’t get the hate from the hiking community..?

For me ultra 2 easily lasts the entire day with some battery left over, this is even whilst using gps to track/follow a route. Yes it’s an inconvenience needing to recharge it but it’s a minor one with fast charging. Hook it up to a power bank for under an hour and you’re good to go again. For those

Garmin converts…convince me to keep my AWU3

I have an AWU2 and Forerunner 265. I use a Garmin chest strap for working out. When Im boxing, it’s just chest strap on and my Garmin off to the side recording. When I’m running or doing weights, its chest strap linked to my Garmin, but I also record with my AWU cause I can. After boxing, I use run

Current pace

Yep. Awu2 here. Always took forever to auto pause. I also have a Garmin Phoenix eight pauses within three seconds of stopping running at a traffic, light, etc. Apple Watch does so many amazing things (many of which Garmin can’t touch) but fitness is not one of them. Where my Apple Watch when I need

Should I upgrade?

I have AWU2. It’s great for what I need. I don’t need all of the extra data Garmin collects. I use Apple Fitness and Strava. Strava has a run specific app called Runna, too.

AW7 died around 35 km today. what are you using for best battery on long treks?

Looking at your photo, your AW died after 7 hours and 5 mins? I guess the key question is, what’s the maximum time you’ve been out on a day hike? And that’ll inform you what device you need. I wear the AWU2 and once hiked for 10 hours, battery was still on 40% when ending the workout. I use the Foot
