It totally depends on what you need the monitor for. If you're editing text or spreadsheets all day, you only need a monitor that is sharp and easy to read text on. If you're editing video professionally, you should have a monitor that makes it easy to switch in and out of the multiple video standar

How do you like the Kuycons? I'm close to pulling the trigger on a 5k Studio Display but I'm strongly considering the Kuycon as well. I'm also thinking about the Asus Pro Art 6k that just came out The platonic ideal would be the Pro Display XDR lol but that's not exactly ideal for my wallet

6years later there is still nothing in market at similar price and spec for brightness and resolution as Pro Display XDR.

There’s not a right answer. Do you want more screen real estate, or do you want better picture quality? IMO, for work: Pro Display XDR. For games/movies/anything in which you’re not staring at windows all day: Studio XDR. If I really wanted a 6K I wouldn’t buy it from Apple, though, due to the price

The Studio Display is max $1,900. The Pro Display XDR is max $6,000. (Prices not including mounts). The Studio Display is the cheaper option. The XDR is the top of the line product.

DICOM certified displays for medical imaging environments are EXPENSIVE, dare I say this becomes one of the best options on the market for price/performance in that sector? It almost certainly is. Generally the go-to "cheap" medical grade monitor is this LG which costs about $3000: https://solutions
