what the hell, this is new to me. the first gen ipad pro/air magic keyboard had a backlit keyboard. if the magnets are in the same spot on the 4th gen - 7th gen ipad airs as well as the smart connector, then it seems like it'd be much better to save money with the older gen magic keyboard with backl

Yep, recently tried to buy a magic keyboard for my iPad Pro. They're all just called "Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro". I guess maybe it makes sense since Apple doesn't officially sell the older models (at least to my knowledge), but it's still a massive pain when looking through other sources.
