should i get this deal?
If the main goal is AI/ML, model training, or anything that relies heavily on GPU compute, then spending that much money on a machine without an NVIDIA GPU doesn’t make sense. With that kind of budget, I would go for a laptop with 32 GB RAM and a dedicated 16 GB NVIDIA GPU, then install Linux on it.

Battletech on M5
Sweet! It was one of the first games I booted up after getting my MBP M3 Max. Thankfully, whatever was causing the graphics glitch for Apple Silicon chips was fixed by Apple at some point. All the mechs looked like Russian dancers that floated slightly off the ground - all the legs were compressed.

New player on a MacBook
If its a apple silicon macbook pro with fans, no problem, you will get decent fps for a single player game. I get 40+ with m3 pro end game. if its an air, then it will heat up and in around 10 mins it is unplayable. tried it with my m2 macbook air.

Anyone know if they’re actually that bad for playing games
Also, the dedicated/integrated graphics is a bit moot with Macs as the SoC GPU cores of silicon are powerful enough to rival most dedicated gaming laptops. I beg to differ, I owned an M3 Pro 16" MBP next to my Zephyrus G14 (RTX 4060, Ryzen 9) and the Zephyrus absolutely blew the MacBook Pro out of t

Should I switch from a Zephyrus G16 to a MacBook Pro if I don’t game anymore?
Right now, I am currently testing this exact scenario. I have a 2024 4090 G16 and I appreciate its power, but Apple Silicon has caught up to being mostly capable GPU-power wise. I picked up a M3 Pro MBP to try running my usuals. I game, but not as often as I've used to, and would kind of like to try

For that specific price range. You have a few options. You can go with the 512GB MacBook Neo using the Apple Education Store which will put you at $600 USD plus tax. I'm a huge tech snob, I won't lie. BUT, I've been daily driving it for grad school this past week and it gets the job done and typing

Hard choice with display and dGPU for P14s G6 Intel
I recently received this laptop with the 3K display option and the NVIDIA RTX Pro 500 Blackwell (6GB VRAM), so here’s my experience so far. For context, I’ve been using MacBook Pros for the past 15 years, up to an M3 Pro with 64GB of RAM. I was tired of macOS and wanted a change—ultimately to Linux,

Handheld-optimized AAA games in the future?
It definitely validated my decision of getting an M3 Pro with 18GB of RAM in 2023. Now I can run Cyberpunk 2077 on a MacBook Pro 14” in 1080p HD at 60fps!

16' M1 pro w/ 32GB RAM worth it?
I'm also looking at a 14" m3 pro 11/16 for 1500 w/ 18 GB RAM for around the same price (1600), I think that might be better performance than a base m5, correct me if I'm wrong tho. If I can't afford that I think imma just wait, save some money and buy a better model directly from apple next year

Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition (14” Intel)
I know people will have various opinions on this, but take this from someone who has used both Mac and PC in professional graphic design settings. Windows laptops suck. I’ve never used one that hasn’t felt laggy or gave me issues, even with high end specs. It is a known issue that Adobe runs worse i
