[Dave2D] MacBook Neo Review - It Might Be TOO Cheap.

~30% shorter battery vs M4 Air (presumably 13") under "light load" is not great (though expectedly shorter), but no methodology nor comparisons to other $500 - $700 MSRP laptops. It's tough to find many Wi-Fi battery life tests. The only one I've found is Tom's Hardware, but a mix of Wi-Fi brosing,

What company lost you forever as a customer? What did they do?

Desktop side, Thunderbolt 5 and an external SSD helps a bit. Battery wise, hoping to see the Neo's battery setup make it's way into the rest of the laptops, just recently paid a local shop to take the battery out of a still otherwise functional 2017 MBP. Overall Windows is such a mess, and I'm not g

MacBook Neo

Neo should be enough for that, but I would strongly recommend spending just $160 more and get an official Apple refurbished M4 Air (indistinguishable from brand new). Comes with MagSafe, Thunderbolt, backlit keyboard with Touch ID, better screen, speakers, camera, and most importantly 16GB RAM. Neo

What type of phone do u prefer?

I don't think anyone who knows much about the mobile sector believes Apple phones (or other hardware, for that matter), is bad quality. iPhones used to have terrible battery life, but those days are mostly gone, and the competition wasn't really better back then. The real problem is pricing. And it'

Help me decide: MacBook Neo vs. Asus Vivobook S15 (Snapdragon X Plus) for Grade 8

Well, if he uses apple, then interacting with those with macOS then yeah. And, the biggest reason that is probably gonna change my mind is the battery life.Battery life for laptops like I said, with those specs, for the price range, will probably have an absolute dog shit battery life. So, if he wants

Purchase suggestion

The correct and only choice is the Air between the 2. You get better ports, screen, speakers, MagSafe, backlight keyboard, speakers, trackpad, and faster storage. There is no way I would recommend a Neo especially at that price point. 8 GB of ram in 2026 is unacceptable for any Apple laptop.

MacBook Neo vs Others Brand Laptop

To address some of your claims: Core count: 8 cores, not 12. Frequency: 5.1GHz is the boost frequency, which you usually get on 1-2 core workloads, not all-core. 3.3GHz is the base frequency. Performance: In Cinebench 2024, 8840HS achieves 99-103.6 ST, 675-790 MT, while the A18 Pro achieves 147 ST,

Help me decide: MacBook Neo vs. Asus Vivobook S15 (Snapdragon X Plus) for Grade 8

The Neo has a much smaller battery capacity compared to all previous MacBooks, so you won't get the legendary battery life you might expect. (But it's a weight / battery duration / cost trade-off) The physical battery cell inside the Asus has a capacity of 75Wh. Compare and contrast:36.5Wh in the Ne

Apple's $599 MacBook Neo Sold Out Through April 2026 Amid Surging Demand

Apple's been sleeping on GaN chargers, so Apple's laptop chargers are still massively oversized compared to what's possible. The Neo's isn't that big because it's only 20W, but it's still bigger than a 20W charger needs to be. However, you can still go and buy a 30W GaN charger from the likes of Ank

Who are these snapdragon ARM laptops for?

'Windows users don’t want them anymore because intel and amd made x86 competitive in terms of battery life'- not really, there battery life numbers they mainly dominate in is web surfing benchmarks but they aren't much better when multitasking and day to day use is much shorter. 'MacOS is locked to
